Up Close and Personal

But first of all, let me express my relief that the semester officially ended at 4pm today when I went to hand in the last assignment.

YAY!!!!!!!! The school has been infested with zombies these past few days. I’ve had the good fortune not to encounter any putrefied ones so far :)

Anyway, have been taking snapshots and they were finally uploaded to the computer. One of the series was through a very small 20x achromatic lens from a couple of days ago. What to know what shape the skin is quilted in?

I present my wrist for enlargement. Well actually you can see the triangles with the naked eye – the lens is not microscopic, although I was still disappointed not to be able to see pore-like stomata.

I think this shows the pixels of a Youtube video.

The seams of my Guess wallet.

The problem with taking these photos was that the lens of my p&s are stuck in the body, and the cover slides down and stays there, so taking these were a lot harder than say, with a p&s that has a protruding lens.

That’s all for magnified photos. Here is one of my chronic disability to be a social person or handle electronics:

Mum and Pa said that my clammy hands would gradually become normal when I’ve become an adult. Well I’ve been an adult for 2 years now (3 if we’re counting by Japan’s standards) and my hyperactive perspiration glands show no signs of taking a break. Same goes for pimples. LIES I TELL YOU.

Haha!

[edit] I think the first picture wasn’t my wrist but my knee. I now remember that I had difficulties operating the line of sight with only one hand :P

Dead Beetle Bird Shit

Last morning I woke up to two very mysterious things in close proximity on the marble tiles of the living room. The first was the husk of a beetle.

The ants in my house need only a day to hollow out the many beetles and moths that fly into my house as their final resting place.
Sometimes I fear for my flesh.

The next was something so out of place that I couldn’t believe what I was seeing.

Behold the glorious pile of shit, as big as the first section of my index finger, and as golden as caramel.

I ignored it for about an hour, hoping that it would go away, but it didn’t. And so I devised ways to get rid of it, scrub the stain off, and mop the surrounding area twice with detergent. It was softer than ice cream and thus sloppy to scoop.

Throughout the day I kept wondering if there was a giant lizard with digestion problems in the house… or if one had imploded into golden mush.  It didn’t occur to me that a bird might have graced its presence with a token souvenir until Pa told me (because bird shit is always white on car bodies right?)

Either that or someone in the house has a very small asshole and an uncontrollable spincter. Two very undesirable traits imo.

Weather & Not

It started to rain tonight on my way home. The man who crossed paths with me stopped and stared from the opposite side of the road as I halted and fumbled about my bag to retrieve the camera to say hallo to Snailさん. Perhaps he thought I was going to stomp on it… I hope it didn’t get crushed!

Hallo big and juicy! I hope you got across the pavement safely!

This was taken the morning I stayed wide awake through the night sometime last month. It’s a treat to be greeted by waking insects and a beautiful sky… although if I had a choice I would rather be dreaming under the blanket during this ungodly hour.

It looks better in black and white.

This week of feeling like the most hardworking week of my life has been, in the words of Ade (who fervently believes that I am never hardworking), hell.

Thank God It’s Thursday!!

Prelude to the Storm

It is flashing lightning and the grey rain reminds me of those times in primary school… but this afternoon I took some pictures of the period before all these happened, when I was marveling at how one could be scorched to death, blinded by the sun, and yet still fall victim to a cold from rain droplets.

Now everything is grey and out of focus and it’s quite amusing to note that the birds outside my window are flying towards shelter in sine curves.

This was the purple toothpick the otah man stuck in one end of the stick to indicate a non-chilli otah.

I picked up the two sticks I bought from the middle and was like, “ow ow ow ow ow,” before he gently told me to pick them up from the tips. Doh!

Sea Dinner

Pa cooked :DDDDD

Miss Squid.

Salmon and yummy fatty skin.

Brown noodles and Watercress. See the classic difference between the fresh watercress we eat at home versus the yellowed, over boiled one (on the right) that we usually eat in stores.

Passion fruit made my mouth turn inside out, but it was surprisingly nice to eat and the seeds were nice to chew.

Am doomed when school reopens in a little more than 24 hours.

Photo Post x3

Me and the place I sleep in.

Bloodkin

This is my current display pic on MSN of me and Brat #2.

I love this picture. We have the same eyes!

Eve and Leaves’ CNY Shopping

But I bought as much stuff too, even though I had no intention to in the beginning. Noes! But they were stuff I’ve been putting off buying. Which means Yassss :DDD

I was an hour late because Ti went and had his inaugural langgar ceremony. I mean, you’re not a true blue driver if you haven’t experienced a case of bumper cars yea? Good game Ti, GG.

After that Mum and I finally had the car when he came back all sian halved, and she dropped me off at Bugis (but not before educating me on the selfishness of human nature– normally the front drivers would blame the last car even though the last car wasn’t the one which started the accident. I was horrified… Am I too naive in believing that there are people who honour the truth even though they would stand to lose? Perhaps that’s why I have the ‘Sucker!‘ label imprinted deep on my forehead).

After a bit of shopping at Bugis Village, mostly for Eve’s benefit, we went and had tea at TCC; also mostly for Eve’s benefit (she wanted to rest her legs).

Top one with the red dot is Leaves’ Raspberry Hazelnut Frappe. Oreo Mocha Frappe is Eve’s and Azuki Coffee Cooler is mine (vaguely remembered Senpai saying it was nice).

Btw I specially asked for as much whipped cream as possible, and when our orders were served MINE HAD THE LEAST AMOUNT OF CREAM. Do you see that pathetic lump of cream, it is a crying shame. Apparently Leaves and the waitress had heard me say the opposite. But I clearly remember saying, “Please put a lot of cream, as much cream as possible– a lot a lot“. Perhaps I hadn’t been enunciating enough :(

Of course we had to take photos together. We only meet on an average of 3 times a year, when we celebrate each others’ birthdays…

On seeing the picture, I was like, “How come Leaves has a halo one!?!“, and Eve was like, “RR how come your eyes closed one?!?“.

Okay lor I open big big for you. Don’t complain le.

(After seeing the picture they kept joking that there were only supposed to be two people in the picture… Wah lau eh!)

Camera positioning fail orz.

I am super duper pleased with my shopping today! Bought an RGB green dress top for $12 at Bugis Village. Eve bought the same but in yellow– she is so short she can just wear it as a dress. Sometimes I am jealous of her height. BUT HAY, LEGGINGZ TYME! XDD

After that I went with Leaves to Junction 8 (omg so nostalgic!) for another raid at Cotton On’s $10 bras and left with 3. And then she showed me her favourite shop Purpur (as expected the shop walls are painted purple lol), so favourite that she even has a members card, where I bought 2 elastic belts for $10 each. Finally I have those!

But I’m still adamant on getting some more mileage out of my lesser-worn clothes in my wardrobe for CNY instead of getting new clothes. Although that’s pretty inauspiscious… If all goes well this year I’ll be wearing my pink CNY dress for the third year running (because it is too formal and tedious for me to wear it on a normal occassion) har har!

Leaves also said that I looked like I lost weight. (Yuunsama had commented the same thing when I met her on Friday.) So tonight I got off my lazy ass to weigh myself. Am 2kg below my average of 54. Damn!

School starts tomorrow/in a few hours time. DARN IT ALL!

I love

My newly purchased $10 bra from Cotton On.
FINALLY! THE ONLY STYLE THAT I CAN WEAR; IT APPEARS BEFORE ME, AND IT APPEARS ON SALE!!!

2009 is going to be a good year. I can feel it in my (albeit almost non-existent) mammaries.
