ULTIMATE COMBO STRIKES AGAIN ♥

I JUST SAW 2 VERSIONS OF THE GRAVEYARD BOOK ON A WHIMSICAL TRIP TO POPULAR JUST NOW.

OMG NEIL GAIMAN & DAVE MCKEAN OR NEIL GAIMAN AND UNKNOWN BUT ALSO PRETTY ILLUSTRATOR???

…I couldn’t find a link to the second version of the book (with the unknown illustrator). But I found this:

Neil Gaiman Gives Away The Graveyard

Goth god and New York Times best-selling author Neil Gaiman is giving away his new work, The Graveyard Book, one chapter at a time.

Gaiman is on a nine-city tour, reading through different chapters of the book each night. The readings are being videotaped and streamed at Mouse Circus, Gaiman’s website for young readers.

In the video interview (embedded), we ask him about The Graveyard Book and why he’s giving it away. Gaiman explains that his new book is a reworking of Rudyard Kipling’s The Jungle Book, only instead of animals, Nobody’s mentors are mostly dead people.

Or just skip over to watch the vids of the readings if you’re so eager :D

I STILL WANT TO SEE THE ILLUSTRATIONSSS!!!!! My gushing about it to Pa after dinner made him look at me funny, wth.

Got a link to a very sad project. The gallery and the accompanying texts are digging up the fear of Death that I’ve been trying to hide.

My excitement about books and Ally’s new hair is now dampened.

It’s so nice

to see people fall in love.

Actually to be precise, it’s nice to see people fall in unrequited love.

Not that I’m a sadist or anything.

It just looks so beautiful.

Badminton and Stuff

Alright, so I managed to finish up Mr. Muo’s Travelling Couch in the library while waiting for Senpai to get off from her work. It is an interesting read, fascinating in the naive pursuit of Mr. Muo in search of virgins where he travels China to make use of his studies in psychoanalysis to interpret dreams (This is a bad, long sentence). All in the name of idealistic love. I’d picked this book randomly because it looked new, the hardcover was nice (covers play a huge part in my decision-making), and subsequently what made me keep on reading despite several attempts in the jarring narration in the beginning was that everything fell into place later on, and the various misadventures Mr. Muo went through, and just the description, and the dreams, and the issue on virginity (i.e. sex). Mostly the dreams though. I liked the parts where he interpreted them; the references to Freud I was grateful to Western Art History last year for acquainting me with (another bad sentence, but I am tired).

I read before going to bed last night, and the last thing I remembered while I was counting sheep (because I couldn’t sleep after rolling around for 2 hours), was that the 3rd one turned blue, and then there wasn’t any sheep anymore. It became Mr. Muo marquee-ing from left to right on his bicycle. Damn funny. His legs weren’t even pedaling. ✿read more…

Monday – Friday

20 August, Monday

Orhkay pointed out something in my animation that I was hoping he’d be blind to; I have to give him credit for that XD

Writing class was WHUTTT in the sense that we had to form groups, discuss over expository articles, and send one representative to the front of the class to elaborate on our findings of how the writer used writing styles.

Guess who got to stand and talk. ^^; ✿read more…

Help

I’m up to my neck in animation assignment due tomorrow (which is damn freaking shitty tomorrow I’ll be humiliated in front of my kiasu classmates lol oh well), the burning feeling in between my chest and stomach is probably a weird concoction of heartburn and gastric, my butt hurts from sitting too long, and the bed just looks so inviting right now I can just imagine how comfortable my legs would feel stretched out and under the blanket. But. I. Can’t. Give. In. To. Temptation.

What’s new.

Oh yea, got Thud! from Terry Pratchett. Was already laughing with Ti even before the story started. I love the book already.

But it has to wait omg nooooooo. Ugh.

[edit] 4:02 am
So, being the procrastinator slow-poke that I am, I’ve just done a grand total of 22 frames. Can’t help running the images and seeing the animation. It’s actually quite mesmerising, but that may be the sleep-deprivation at work.

Doesn’t change the fact that Animation’s pretty damn grueling still my empty bedddd OTL

Going to work by public transport has its highlights. Strangers make me smile.
Behind their backs.

This morning, a very tall ang moh entered the MRT carriage. He was so tall that he had to bend down to enter, and when he held the centre pole, I compared him to the two short girls holding onto the same pole. NO CONTEST.

(I barely even measured up to his shoulders.) ✿read more…

Out Some More

Friday was spent going to H mall with Aunty Serene and the two brats. I spent the rest of my afternoon with Brat #2 in Popular. It was enjoyable. He behaved himself rather well; probably because there was no Brat #1 to disturb.

I had to keep telling him to shush his big lungs though. ✿read more…

EXAM RESULTS OUT! And Outings.

I went to Kooling’s house on Tuesday after lots of walking about Bugis…

Her cat’s eyes are big! It’s a beautiful specimen. Unfortunately it largely ignored me.

Eljay & Romeo x Juliet

I had a nice dream last night – something about walking a whole lot through the city of 2-storey shophouses set in a fantasy world, with the aim of visiting a dwarf’s gold shop. The problem was, the first time we went there was okay. The second time, the roads magically changed and we couldn’t find the shop. ✿read more…

Living in another world

Two ways to do that which are legal:

1) Dream
2) Read

I had quite a splendid dream last night – I just wished it has a sequel, because the dream left off while I was just beginning to start on a journey in search of something… or people. ✿read more…
