Actually it’s the third day of my month-long holiday, but I was nursing a cold over the weekend, in addition to being dragged all over town to celebrate freedom :P
Anyway, recap of submission week:
Monday:
Battled murder urges fainting spells from the cramps of female-hood and rushed throughout school to:
(a) Collect mounting boards from QRen and watch a brief demo on how to mount our photos from Gorilla.
(b) Chase Renald out of his computer station (lol sorry man) for 5 minutes to print my submission papers for Charcoal’s Journal, Sunshine’s FYP report and Redball’s Website report (had clean forgotten about checking Blackboard and realised too late that I had to write a report in the wee hours of the morning omg)
(c) submit said reports,
(d) take quick snaps of JK’s painting exhibition
(e) go back to the car where Mum was waiting and keel over in pain for the rest of the day.
Also, I has portfolio website (thanks to Redball lol). Should update it more in the future but I am lazy ass so we shall see.
Thursday:
Completed Derwin’s 200 MCQ paper in one hour instead of the allocated two. I guess that was the adrenaline doing the speed-reading for me. But got damn pissed when I double-checked my paper and found a transference error on the second question. I blame Derwin, because I have never made transference errors before, and this time was because the options on the question paper were numerals (1, 2, 3, 4), while the options on the OAS sheet were alphabets (a, b, c, d, e). WTF MAN, WAS THIS A TRICK TEST? Were we supposed to hand in a blank OAS sheet and state that the answers were not found on the answer sheet? I wasted precious time reading the instructions on the first page thrice, after discovering the incongruity of the options, hoping to discover some sort of code or something, but there was none. Wah lau eh.
Friday:
The last of my submissions, after Charcoal postponed this session due to an emergency. I came to school at 9am, only to discover two of my classmates milling around to tell me that no, the class started only at 9.30am. I AM A FOOL. Anyway, I don’t really remember much of my presentation because I was operating on !Panic!, but there were some memorable moments.
Like when Gorilla presented his series on dying trades and said about the government staff which patrolled the vendors and, “make sure that the dying trades die”.
And the instance when I was putting up my ten final prints after the break and got help from my classmates, and then a lot of them started crowding round and commenting on the series, and I got people coming up to say that they’d always liked the photos that I did, and the rest of them telling me to change my major to Photography and etc (to which I was like, No! I’m going to graduate liao! lol), and Charcoal sat on the opposite side of the table asking if I could minor, to which I smart-alecked and said, only in Entrepreneurship OTL
And then during my presentation, Charcoal said that he thought of me that morning while drinking coffee, and said that he wondered what I’d do after I graduate, and could see me illustrating for a job, like for Campell’s soup (wth?!?! totally random loll). He also said that my series reminded him of children’s story books, to which I exclaimed that yes! I collected children’s books (omg I never noticed the connection sia!). And that my spirit seems more like an artist, in that he could not see me doing commercial work. And somewhere along he asked again what I was going to do after graduation, to which I said that I would have to get a job because Pa says so to support him and because he was tired of paying for my tuition fees lolol and I added that I would be happy living off my parents though :PP
Argh, recapping of Friday is very jumbled, but it was one of the best classes that I had, including that it’s the last photography class I’ll ever have in this university T^T
I think that’s it. I really am going to have to invest in a couple of good camera lenses for the SLR and dSLR now instead of borrowing from the school ^^;
