I’m lying on my stomach reading through my much-abused encyclopedia from when I was a young kid. My favourite book of the entire series, ‘Wild Animals’, because the cover had a koala on it. Ti’s favourite was the one on Dinosaurs, and at night the two of us would get these two favourite books to the parents’ bed and implore Pa to read it to us.
Random thought: if roaches, for some mysterious reason, were to suddenly be on the brink of extinction, would people rally for actions to ensure it’s survival?
If not, then what are the criteria for animals being deserving to be saved from extinction? Their cuteness? Their usefulness? Their contribution to taxonomical studies?
Actually the whole concept of ’saving’ animals from extinction is a huge can of worms altogether :p

I got you this time.
“can of worms” is pun!, isn’t it?
By the way, do you know the origin of the word, “kangaroo?”
Great! “can of worms” is not a pun, but a saying to mean, in this case, that it is a subject that is very messy.
It’s usually used as ‘open a can of worms’: http://www.usingenglish.com/reference/idioms/opening+a+can+of+worms.html
Haha I didn’t know about the origin of the word but the power of the internet has enlightened me! It has an interesting origin behind the word :D

i just killed a fat cockroach.
don’t start.
i hate them. not so much of my insect phobia but more of the cleaning up. therefore they should be extinct by virtue of my self determinism.
eeeeeeeeeeeyerrr. if u crush a roach their smelly insides will be damn difficult to get rid of ley. of course clean up will be more difficult mah tsk tsk!
since u mentioned koala, i can’t resist… *cutesy engrish* do you know, koala’s appendix is 20m longu!
