The Fallability of Life

This week has had me revolving around the theme of Death once more, only not so much in my head. It’s slightly alarming that nowadays I think about what happens after death and don’t go into slight panic-attacks anymore.

Does it mean that I’ve grown up? Or merely become tired and desensitized to lingering affections of the conscience after my flesh becomes ash?

Perhaps the part that scares me most is the uncertainty of what exactly happens after Death. After all, I break into cold-sweat whenever I have to step into a dark room. I need to know what lies ahead!

Anyway, The week started with me reading up on interesting lists of dying as a condemned:

Top 10 Gruesome Methods of Execution

10 More Gruesome Methods of Execution

Death by Scaphism is particularly interesting- it’s such a nice word, and also a very torturous way to go. I am in awe of Mankind’s ingenuity. Now if only we could channel such creativity to, I dunno, making paper airplanes that can actually fly :P

Conversations within the family coincidentally touched upon the subject of Death, albeit in a light-hearted way. Ti was reading a an issue of The New Scientist in the car and he asked Pa what AIDS stood for, to which I gladly gave him the answer. After that he asked what HIV stood for, and I happily told him that too. And then he asked what the difference between AIDS and HIV was, and I chirpily babbled on in the car.

(Actually I was quite shocked that he didn’t know! … Or am I weird for knowing a little bit too much about this?)

Pa and Ti bothed laughed and said I should have studied Medicine. And I went, no way, I don’t want to be responsible for other people’s lives. Pa then said that I should mix my interest in art with my other interest in Forensics.

Ti immediately replied that in other words, Pa was giving me the job description of an embalmer.  You know, making dead people look pretty. LOL!

This evening, Pa fetched me home from school again and we passed by a super long truck with huge slabs of concrete slanted on both sides (think perhaps in terms of 4 by 5 metres). I asked if we could survive should one of those slabs fall on our car.

Apparently even the car would be flattened. In Pa’s words, we would be like a Mickey Mouse pancake.

The thought distressed me.

On a lighter note, Kooling mentioned the site Witty Quotes and a few struck me as well:

life, n.: A whim of several billion cells to be you for a while

When I die, I want to go peacefully like my Grandfather did, in his sleep — not screaming, like the passengers in his car.
I intend to live forever, or die trying.
I guess that’s the end.

Wednesday Observations

Morning, and Ti and I headed to the nearby saloon for a haircut. It was my first time there. When the elevator opened, Mum stepped out, and she fetched us there despite the short distance. After she dropped us, we realised that the place was closed. Ti and I walked back :( See you again, boyish haircut :(((

In the evening I came out to the living room to see Ti (home from his one-week holiday), Brat#1 and Brat#2 lying in a row on their tummies on the floor and tilting theuir heads to watch intently as an episode of the third season of Avatar played on TV.

The family called me out to finish off a bottle of beer, and when I finally detached myself from the computer and surfaced in the living room, they were like, ‘Hohhhh!! Jiu gui lai liao!’ (Hokkien for 喔!!酒鬼来了!, i.e. Whoa, the alcohol demon is here!)

Zzz total case of wth XD It’s not that I drink a lot, only that I drink a considerably larger amount than most of them because they suffer from allergic reactions ^^;

When Uncle MC called me out to finish off the bottle, I was like, I don’t want to drink anymore la, I don’t like red wine, it’s too sweet. And he was like, okay then tell me where you want me to pour until.

I indicated the level, and Uncle MC went all exclamatory about how high the level I indicated was >_<

they just called me out again, and everyone was saying how white I was. Because Uncle MC (who drank the same amount as me) and Ti (who drank less than me) were as red as tomatoes. THEY WIN!!! Just because I don’t turn red doesn’t mean I’m not dizzy y’all :P

[edit] APPARENTLY I DRANK MORE THAN UNCLE MC AND TI!!!! WTF!!!! They just said I really buay dong (Hokkien for cannot be moved) Wah lauuu! Our standard for drunkenness  is really low la…

[edit2] Here have drunken picture:

Red and Jaundice.

Fatigue

And migraine right now. I think it’s the sudden change in weather. I just want to vegetateeeeee T^T

For now, something a bit more crazy from 4 days ago:

pixelation stop mo
Gotta love <2mb super compressed .gif pixelation.

Also, looping this beautiful youtube video always almost has me in tears – The Day I Died by Just Jack.

Still Reluctant

Recalling the events that led up to the completion of a project that had forced me (and four others) to toil their souls out for the past two weeks is quite burdensome. I feel very tired just re-living the memories hahaha!

Until I can sort out the pictures, here is something taken one day after the five of us handed in the project:

Goofy is back in school on a Saturday BUT NOT FOR THAT DARN PROJECT ANYMORE!!!!

Woohoo!

Actually I kinda miss the times we spent already :(

Back & Better

First it was the chionging of the last lap of a certain project that kept me away from the computer. Then when it ended, my desktop refused to start up. WTG.

Today Pa reset the BIOS (funny, according to the beep codes, I thought it was either the RAM or graphics card that was the problem) and ran the anti-virus for 6 hours and now my comp is healthier and faster than ever. Moral of the story – online games are evil. I’ll never allow Ti to persuade me to try another one of those sushi multi-tasking flash games again!!!

Anyway, had too many things to say and so many pictures that I don’t know where to start :(

Half-Dead

A few memorable events from my birthday last Wednesday was:

- me apologising to the cashier for paying with money from my ang pao because I had no cash and it was my birthday, immediately to which I asked if there were any discounts if it was my birthday? And the cashier kept laughing as he processed the payment of a packet of Epson printing papers for Charcoal’s homework with no discount :(

- a Caucasian working at the Dead Sea Skincare cart stopping me at the first floor of the electronics mall I bought the papers at with, “Hey beautiful, are you Singaporean?” To which I spent the rest of the week being slightly distressed at the fact that even a foreigner can’t tell if I’m a native. OTL

- Spending the rest of my birthday in front of youtube laughing my ass off :DDDD

From Friday onwards it was hell and I spent about a total of 4 out of 48 hours sleeping while uncomfortably balancing on chairs in the stuffy product room in school. Also, got a sore right shoulder. Lucky I don’t play tennis or anything like that hee hee heeeee XDDD

It says a lot about the level of spirituality of my teammates when I was the one who slept the most in the group with 4 hours >_< ARE THEY DEITIES?!?!?!?

Although I’d like to justify myself when I say that my ideal amount of sleep-time is 12 hours, and anything less than 9 leaves me a bit cranky :P

Will be staying over at school again tomorrow till Wednesday. As I’ve told friends, I’ll only be able to meet you all after this week ends… and wishlist is updated in case presents have not been bought (esp. in reply to Puey haha!)

Anyway, am horrendously busy :(

Also also, I can’t believe I wasted a whole day playing with my new iPod Touch. Threw a tantrum yesterday and spilled some brine over it (all in the secrecy of my room of course) but after I found that it’s WiFi is much better than my current phone, I’d been playing with it non-stop. This probably means I’m gonna be downgrading my current Omnia yo.

Feels stupid carrying two bricks which share so many same functions… barring phone and sneaky!camera :P
