Extreme Camping

Stayed over at Senpai’s sis’s condo (it’s complicated) over the weekend. She hooked up her laptop to the huge plasma TV! IT WAS F*AWESOME.

Here’s what we chionged:
Handsome Suit - Loved the pun ブスーツ! Super cute and colorful.
Door to Door - Based on a true story of Bill Porter. Throughout the film I kept thinking of how hard it was for him to twitch his face like that.
Queen of Pirates concert DVD - Truth be told I wouldn’t have watched it but what to do, this is Senpai we’re talking about XDDD TURNED OUT TO BE A GREAT CONCERT LOVELY LIGHTING AND EXTRAVAGANT DISPLAY OF PYROTECHNICS AND PROPS. Also, kept screaming (in horror) at Kamenashi’s unseemly display of erotica, among others :P
Smile episode 01 - Eh first episode was full of super random cuts and confusing and tried to tackle too many topics, but from the previews it looks like episode 02 will be much better. However this is the last I’ll hear of it.
Slam Dunk episode 01 - I think there’s no need to introduce this XD Way to start Sunday morning :DDD
One Piece episodes 218-257 – CHIONGSTER!!!!! And this, the first time I actually start getting serious about this anime, I start from the middle. Win.

Here’s what we ate:

Packed lunch from home – porridge and beans and some fish cake.

WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT THAT JACK & JILL WOULD COME UP WITH UNAGI CHIPS!?!?! Also, we shared Pringles and 4 donuts from Jco.

Dinner was a magnificent home-delivery takeout feast of Roti John, Murtabak, 10 Satays, 1 tupperware of beansprouts… I forgot from where. Senpai can testify that I could not move after eating.

Breakfast the next day was Senpai being domestic! Maggi Me with fried egg and others. Nom!

AND THEN FOR A MIDDAY SNACK SHE FRIED FRENCH TOAST A:DFlsmklgjdengkl!!!!

We ordered takeout from Sakae Suchi for dinner. They gave us 6 spoons. It was so lol because seriously the two of us were eating six people’s share???

Here’s what was interesting:

The bigger of the two snails.

The invisible shrimp that get’s A’s in camouflage.

PHOTOSYNTHESIS!!!!!!

The end.

Have been chionging One Piece from where we left off to the end of the arc (episode 316). Am now starting from the beginning and so far am at episode 10. In the meantime I painted my nails and made earrings. How’s that for productivity while not stepping one foot out of the house for the past two days, hah!

Okay I have no life.

Up Close and Personal

But first of all, let me express my relief that the semester officially ended at 4pm today when I went to hand in the last assignment.

YAY!!!!!!!! The school has been infested with zombies these past few days. I’ve had the good fortune not to encounter any putrefied ones so far :)

Anyway, have been taking snapshots and they were finally uploaded to the computer. One of the series was through a very small 20x achromatic lens from a couple of days ago. What to know what shape the skin is quilted in?

I present my wrist for enlargement. Well actually you can see the triangles with the naked eye – the lens is not microscopic, although I was still disappointed not to be able to see pore-like stomata.

I think this shows the pixels of a Youtube video.

The seams of my Guess wallet.

The problem with taking these photos was that the lens of my p&s are stuck in the body, and the cover slides down and stays there, so taking these were a lot harder than say, with a p&s that has a protruding lens.

That’s all for magnified photos. Here is one of my chronic disability to be a social person or handle electronics:

Mum and Pa said that my clammy hands would gradually become normal when I’ve become an adult. Well I’ve been an adult for 2 years now (3 if we’re counting by Japan’s standards) and my hyperactive perspiration glands show no signs of taking a break. Same goes for pimples. LIES I TELL YOU.

Haha!

[edit] I think the first picture wasn’t my wrist but my knee. I now remember that I had difficulties operating the line of sight with only one hand :P

Inopportune Pwnage

I came back to find that my desktop can be switched on, but cannot be started up. This is the metal equivalent of a living vegetable. I think something in the CPU is fried. (I knew letting the inner components face the morning sun was a bad idea!)

And to think that it was working just fine when I switched it off at 3.40am this morning… such is the transcience of life :((

Crap I now have to deal with:
(a) Have a sociology examination tomorrow and did not print all the materials found online. At least I have mum’s laptop here now.
(b) I hope to whatever omnipotent beings up there that a .psd file for Orhkay’s final submission is in my thumbdrive or in the school server, because my life can just go to hell’s rollercoaster if they’re not.

Guess this means camping in school for the next few days while chionging submission deadlines instead of in the comfort of home :S

Alternatively, this could mean shuttling between home and school. 4 hours per day by public transport (about $4 I think?), or 2 hours per day by cab (each trip costs about $20). OH THE CHOICES.

Twitterbug

I’m glad the Twitter widget got fixed, because a while ago I was terribly amused to see this:

:DDDD

Bone Marrow

I took another look at my thin-ness again after reading that term.

It’s not like I have an eating disorder, and can’t help it if I’m bordering on the obscene in the skinniness, especially on my torso– my butt down is well-fleshed and I remember once in primary (or was it secondary?) school we had this health examination and the nurse told me that it was good that my fats were concentrated below because it meant that I had a lower risk of breast cancer.

And then the memory of a time many years ago surfaced when I was so taken with this green kimono cut top and went to try it on. I was too thin to fit into it, and it just looked disgusting with the arm holes being more of a hole than showing an arm sticking out of it…

Guess I’m just in another of my body image issue rut now.

Filipino

Men Catch and Eat One of the Worlds Rarest Sharks

My favourite comments, some of them echoing my thoughts but mostly for the lolz:

WHAT’S THAT, LET’S EAT IT.

As someone who is half Chinese, I’d have to say that sentence sums up the Asian mentality about food quite well.

Hunger vs. Environmental Conservation: Fair enough, but what makes you think these fishermen were hungry?

If they had perserved it or stored it on ice some university or museum would have paid them much more for it than it’s value as a food item. They might as well have been eating a big pile of dollar bills.

I am 100% in support of this. If it’s one of the world’s rarest sharks, then you’d better eat as much of it as you can before it becomes extinct.

Lets bring back the dodo so we can EAT IT!

the dodo tasted bad and was vicious. thats why they killed it. it was also ugly.

I eat pieces of ***** like you for breakfast…

You eat pieces of ***** for breakfast?!

Filipinos, not “phillipinians” or “Philippians.”

They failed to mention in the article a very important fact. Did it taste good?

The article was biased towards the WWF. That’s why it was filled with words like butchered, slaughtered, and so on.
You would think that reporters would just f’ing report instead of trying to get the readers to lean one way or another.
I’m going to start blocking sites like that outright. I just want to know what happened, not the reporters take on how things should have been.

Must EAT.. Must KILL.. bloody idiots

Yes. Sometimes people who do not have the comfort of 24 hour grocery stores and drive through donut shops must KILL to EAT… otherwise they DIE. The logic escape you?

people who hunt animals and catch fishes to eat are sooooo ignorent and mean!!!!! why don’t they go to the grossery store and eat the meat that is maid their

I seriously hope that the last commenter was being sarcastic.

Self Ownage

This was what caused me severe pain on my right hand from gripping the tablet stylus from night till the sun rose again the next morning non-stop. I figure it was at least 9 hours worth of nerve-killing.

Because of these, I also overslept on my way to school and woke up one stop after I was supposed to get off at.

And was literally a retard when ordering breakfast at Long John Silvers’.

They still need improvements though. GODAMMIT! Hahaha pwned.

My group is awesome.

Plus Minus

+ The weather was nice.
- Woke up at 9.08am instead of 6.45am, 8 minutes after OSH’s class began.
- This was the class I was supposed to give a final project presentation for.

- Did not bathe before leaving the house. Yucky.
+ Bathed a few hours ago before I slept at 3am.

- Called for a cab to school after waiting anxiously for one and flagging to no avail.
- The trip cost $25.
+ It was $10 lesser than what I expected to pay.
+ The Mercedes cab was a damn smooth ride.

- Arrived in class at 10am.
+ That Mercedes is smooth and fast, baby. It took less than half an hour to cover 32km.
+ OSH did not get angry, merely greeted me as I entered sheepishly.

- My final project presentation sucked.
+ SQ and Nicole praised my project because it was so simple that no one in their right minds would attempt to do it.
+ I have resigned myself to not-so-glorious grades for OSH’s class.

- Went for MelB’s class today because I skipped her class yesterday (overslept again and had to prepare for OSH’s presentation). MY THUMBDRIVE HAD NOT HEARD OF SUCH A THING AS MY LATEST HOMEWORK TO BE HANDED IN FOR CRIT!!!!
+ Had a laugh at my amazing predicament.
+ MelB and I are meeting tomorrow for crit. I am forgiven!

+ I now know when to pronounce the word ‘the’, as ‘di’ or ‘duh’.

+ Shasha photocopied her notes for Cynic’s lecture yesterday for me!
+ I got reminded to get the free goodie bag which includes an IKEA pillow.
- WTH WHY IS THE DRESS THEME MINAH THIS FRIDAY???? XDDDD
- The Urban Dictionary definition is really mean, but other searches gave me the bird :(

- Pa did not fetch me home today.
+ Mum did.
+ We had dinner at another western variation of those hawker center stalls.

+ Had a good shit.

- Not sleeping again tonight.

+ But it was a good day.

School Moments Archived

Now that I’ve finally compiled my files over from Ti’s comp where I’d been storing them because of the last desktop scare, I was tickled to find old doodles from Foundation Engineering.

Me: The Chemistry lecturer is speaking nonsense. damn lecturer.
JX: Ahaha, don’t listen and it’ll be alright.

I can’t believe I could write chinese.
