Toycon

Today was the Day 1 of the Singapore Toy and Comic Convention open to the public (Friday was a closed affair so I count it as Day 0). Ade brought me shopping and I brought her toy spying and then it was more shopping OTL. Was feeling particularly claustrophobic today, so the huge crowd everywhere especially in the convention hall was nauseating :(

But before that, WE WERE ON TIME! And had a Yoguru mix at Raffles City basement to celebrate. (Actually Ade was delirious over the opening of the store because she is a fast devotee of the Yoguru following.)

$7.30 for a large cup.
Siao siao I can order 3 packets of chicken rice from the kopitiam downstairs and still have change of 40 cents to buy sweets from the mama store XD But it’s nice for the occassional indulgence la.

There were Lau Fu Zi (Old Master Q) standees and that was when I finally took out the camera.

The shrunken-green-man-with-the-force Lego was cool.

There was also an area where children built colourful architecture.

So exciting, machiam prize-giving ceremony XD

Ade liked the dangerous squirrel so much she wanted a picture of it.

I preferred the harmless-looking creature beside psycho squirrel.

It’s a conspiracy.

Fulfilled second goal of going to the toycon. The first was to kaypoh see what next sem’s tutor looked like :D

So ugly its cute. I still have my tofu boy from the $3 tikam machine XD

Omg Rozen Maiden. But Blythe Dolls and the likes still disturb me.

Today’s cosplay was movies (Sunday’s one is the anime cosplay). I liked the Godzilla and Ultraman ones!
Although there were also some anime cosplay going the free & easy. Saw a Gintoki and Chio!Haruhi with her boy buddy donning an Ouran High School uniform I think [edit: after doing some homework I realised it wasn’t Ouran but also from the same anime as Haruhi. Doh!).

But only two ley… (CUTIE ALERT!)

I think I’m a sucker for bald men in clean tees with tattoos. The second guy that made me mentally breakdown! Ade said they looked gay but it just drives home the point that they’re my type (but not my type) XD
Anyway these designs were by the bald guy (Malaysian if I didn’t hear wrongly) in the background. They’re opening shop in October. Somehow I find it pretty demanding to correlate the cute designs to his kickass BaldHeadTattoosLUVBUTNOTMYTYPE.

Next was dinner at Waraku in Marina Square! THANK YOU MUCH MUCH ADE AH SOH!!!!

The salad Senpai reccomended. The roe was lovely and the slight taste of wasabi was unique and really good.

Unagi and egg rolls. Liked the vinegar but that’s usual for sushi fare XD

Hotate Mayonnaise. NOTHING BUT HOT CHEESE AND SCALLOPS. HOT CHEESE! Extremely nommable.

Some pizza with bacon on top. Thin, crispy and light.

Underneath the thin layer of egg is a mass of cabbage/lettuce (I can’t tell the difference when it’s shredded…)
It gets cold fast so eating it as soon as it gets to the table is a must!

And then it was my turn to treat cake at Cedele. I forgot the name but Ade said it was like birthday cake XD The top layer is really fine cheese though. Love.

Okay the end. Leaving for Genting in 3 hours time so I guess it’s time to pack my bag. Will be back Wednesday night.
